He wants one thing… she wants another. Who’s got the sharpest tool?
BASIC is a very short film about a stupid lil’ ho doin lil’ ho things. It’s 2 minutes and 45 seconds long. The short stars Nelson Franklin, who you’ll recognize from starring in Veep, Blackish, and Abby’s, and it also stars his real life wife, Georgia Mischak, who you’ve seen in Arrested Development and Love. The other actor in the film is also the writer and director of the project, Chelsea Devantez, who currently writes for Bless This Mess on ABC, and has previously written for The Opposition with Jordan Klepper on Comedy Central, The Gong Show on ABC, The Jon Stewart HBO show, and Abby’s on NBC.
In this short, we see an awkward encounter in a supermarket car park as a new comedy duo (winners of ‘The London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival 2017’ and shortlisted for ‘The Women in Comedy International Writing Award 2016’) take a satirical swipe at imperialism.
These girls have comedy backbones, with stage and screen experience including: ‘Bridget Jones – The Edge of Reason’, ‘Alistair McGowan’s Big Impressions’ and the world’s longest-running live comedy show, ‘NewsRevue’.
