Get to know the writer:

What is your screenplay about?

It’s about a girl who seeks to rekindle her relationship with God, played out in a very absurd way.

What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Comedy

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

Because I believe it’s a funny and satirical take on religious relationships with God.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Short, funny.

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

Anchorman.

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

The full version took about a week.

How many stories have you written?

Too many to count.

What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

My favorite song is always changing… As of now, it’s “Redbone” by Childish Gambino.

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

Getting harsh feedback from people who thought that God was off limits in terms of comedy.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Creating beats and playing basketball.

What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

I had a very short comedy script, and this festival provided a great opportunity to have it performed for the public. The positive feedback for the full length version of the script has been very positive for the most part, and I’m extremely honored by it all.
