Get to know the winning writer:
What is your screenplay about?
It’s about seeing the world from a different perspective, to get the things we really want and desire.
What genres does your screenplay under?
Comedy
Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
I think it should be made into a commercial or movie, because its cute and humorous but at the same time it helps us to see things from a new perspective. There is also a lesson to be learned, that there is a consequence for every thing we do whether its good or bad.
How would you describe this script in two words?
Cute and Clever.
What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
Saving Private Ryan, I love this movie because even thou its a World War 2 movie, its actually a film about a journey and along this journey we learn so much about the individuals looking for Private Ryan.
How long have you been working on this screenplay?
This script took me about a day because of the shortness, I had to work really hard on editing it down to one page.
How many stories have you written?
I’m fairly new to script writing but I have about a dozen at the moment.
What motivated you to write this screenplay?
The challenge of writing a one page story. This is a challenge in itself to be able to tell a full story in one page.
What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
Brevity without being to brief, if that makes any sense. I basically had to tell a story but not be too long winded otherwise I’d go over the one page mark. So my challenge was how do I set a scene develop a character give conflict and tell a complete story all in one page.
Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about directing movies. I’ve directed several short films and next year I’m filming my first feature film Rome of the Dead, which is about a zombie apocalypses in ancient Rome.
Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
Read as much as you can, screenplays, short stories, and novels. I think the more you read the better you will get at writing. Last advice is to write as much as you can, practice makes perfect.
