The COMEDY LOS ANGELES JUNE 2017 FEEDBACK Film Festival gave our audiences the best of comedy short movies from around the world.

The theme of the festival was “MISDIRECTION”.

Every film showcased what about a situation that was headed in one direction and then ended not where you expected.

Nothing is more subjective than comedy. If we show these selected films to 100 audiences we’ll get 100 different types of responses.

A comedy festival is also like a comedy club – people go to it because they want to be entertained and they want to laugh. Of course what makes our festival different is that we turn the cameras on the audience and ask them what they think.

No other festival makes me more nervous than the COMEDY Festival. I always sit in the dark hallway entrance while the films are playing hoping for one thing: hearing people laugh!

And when a selection of random people sitting in a dark room watching flickering images on screen begin to laugh in unison – there is no better feeling in the world. And it must be 100X better for the filmmakers who are in the audience watching their films being shown and hearing strangers laugh at their work.

The films showcased tonight definitely gave us a “punchline” ending. The last line of each film gave us the funniest line. They were the funniest because they were unexpected moments that occured. A bit of a comedic twist. The more unexpected, the funnier it is because you are simply reacting to the moment in laughter. It’s a spontaneous giggle. And usually the more spontaneous, the more memorable it is too.

See you at the festivals.
